Getting Started with Recoveryfit Groups is EASY. By following a few simple STEPS, you’ll be providing the “physical” component of recovery to your clients in no time

Most people start an exercise program to look & feel better. In recovery, we now get the opportunity to nurture rather than neglect our bodies

Physical activity can reverse the detrimental effects of stress & anxiety by increases in serotonin & dopamine levels in the body

Physical activity can help address the symptoms of depression by increasing endorphin levels in the body leading to an elevated mood

Contrary to what we might think, when we have low energy the action of taking physical activity will actually increase our energy levels

Exercise through the day can help increase more restful sleep by tiring the body & slowing the mind

When we do positive things for our body we feel better about ourselves. Taking action on the physical plain allows us to look & feel better increasing our self-image
Location & Space
Recoveryfit groups DO NOT REQUIRE A GYM & are performed On-site at your facility utilizing a minimal amount of equipment & space
- Choose a space large enough relative to the size of your group
- Recoveryfit Groups can be held anywhere including your group meeting rooms, outside, or in a fitness area
Materials & Equipment

- iPad or other Tablet Device
- Be sure this device is properly charged & connected to Wi-Fi
- For use by the instructor during presentation
- Turn OFF the Sleep Mode on your device
- Recoveryfit Collateral Kit – Click Here
- Support collateral including, 8 ½ x 11” frames, plexi holders, station cards & any other materials indicated on the Preparation & Set-up Sheet for each specific group
- Recoveryfit Equipment Kits – Click Here
- Not all included fitness equipment is needed for each group. So gather & arrange the recommended equipment listed on the Preparation & Set-ups Sheet for each specific group allow for sufficient equipment relative to the number of participants in the group including mats, dumbbells, resistance bands, medicine balls or chairs

Group Time
- Have all preparations for the group finished at least 5-10 minutes before the group start time including the exercise stations & needed fitness equipment
- Play upbeat music as the clients enter in order to set a positive tone for the group
- Arrange all Chairs or Mats for client seating
- Know your content & do your best to stay on track but understand that mistakes will happen & information will be overlooked. ITS ALLRIGHT!!! We are here to Be of Service & allow clients to experience fitness & movement as a tool of recovery. The more you practice the better you will get.
- Have FUN & treat all participants with love & respect
Workouts

- All exercises are scaled to 3 levels: beginner, intermediate, & advanced. Participants are asked to choose their level of activity relative to their ability & comfort level.
- Facilitators should be prepared to properly demonstrate & present each exercise utilizing the text instructions & the demonstration videos in the Video Library
- Be sure to communicate that safety is #1 & that variations to any movement can be given when requested. Reiterate, “This is your workout & should only be performed at a level that you are comfortable with.”
- Once you have chosen the Workout for the Principle that you are presenting, push the “Display Workout” button & place your tablet in a position to display the workout for the clients to reference. You may also choose to send the content to a large monitor for display if this is available.
- Go to Settings on your device to TURN OFF the “Sleep mode” so that the tablet does not fade off while displaying the Workout Sign
